We welcome all students who attend regular IP classes to join our Dance Team! The IP Dance team was made for students who want to learn more traditional Filipino dances than those covered in regular IP class sessions. The IP Dance Team classes are an additional option for IP families and require an additional registration fee.
To join our IP Dance Team, prior dance experience is not necessary. However, students must be enrolled in IP’s School Age Children’s Program.

Students in the Intermediate level of the IP Dance Team before performing Kadal (Madal Tahaw) at the 3rd Annual Filipino American Festival hosted by the Harvard Square Philippine American Alliance.
The Dance Team’s Beginner/Intermediate Group consists of students, typically ages 6 to 10, who make up our training group! Here, we start with the basics of dances for beginners.
The Dance Team’s Beginner/Intermediate Group meets after regular IP class sessions. This group performs at IP special events, such as Pasko Na Naman and Graduation. Once the student reaches an intermediate level and is comfortable and able to perform the dances, they can start performing with the advanced group at external performances.
The Dance Team’s Advanced Group consists of students typically age 11 and up. These students comprise our core performing group and perform the largest variety of traditional dances. They are our most well trained dancers who have been dancing folk dance for years at IP.
The Dance Team’s Advanced Group meets after regular IP class sessions and have additional rehearsals on non-IP days. These additional rehearsals typically occur during the weeks before public performances. Students in the Advance Group also help teach our Beginner/Intermediate Group!
