IP Caroling

The IP Carolers at Bagong Kulturang Pinoy (BKP)‘s Simbang Gabi event in 2013!

The IP Christmas Caroling history is rich, upbeat, and fun! Our IP Christmas Carolers, established in 1976, consist of our community’s parents, students, alumni, and rondalla. They rehearse for more than two months and go caroling (by appointment) during the three weeks in December before Christmas. Christmas caroling is a fundraising tradition that is still practiced in the Philippines and helps promote the Christmas spirit. Proceeds from our caroling performances are earmarked for our Rondalla Program. Presently, the IP Christmas Carolers’ performances are the second major fundraiser for IP.

Our carolers love sharing the spirit of Christmas with Filipino and non-Filipino audiences alike! They have performed in family parties and community events, including but not limited to: public libraries, retirement homes, colleges, and cultural events. The IP Carolers sing to live piano, guitar, and maracas or recorded music! Their repertoire includes American holiday classics, traditional Christmas music, and traditional and contemporary Filipino Christmas songs. Examples of songs sung by our carolers include: Ang Pasko ay Sumapit, Jingle Bells, Sa May Bahay Ang Aming Bati, and Baby It’s Cold Outside!

IP Carolers have performed every year from 1976 until 2019. Unfortunately, between 2020 and 2022, all IP Caroling activities were paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Carolers had a proud revival in the 2023 Christmas Season and we hope that you can join our IP Caroling History soon!
