Sunday, February 23, 2014- Tea Musicale and Celebrity Series guest, Broadway actor/singer Jose Llana meets and greets IP kids and their families. Mr. Llana commented that it took a lot of courage and creativity for the children to step on the platform to perform. He expressed admiration for the school and wished he had access to one when he grew up in the Washington, DC area. IP was honored to be serenaded with two songs, capella. One Tagalog song from a recording he did in Manila and a song from “King and I”. The children took some lessons from our guest when he stressed that he took his Pilipino heritage into his work. He also advised that as a performer one should always take rehearsals and practice seriously- it takes away the uncertainty and makes one more confident in their role. After his talk, many children gathered and he gave them more personal advice for their career in theatre. Salamat Jose Llana and Mabuhay!
